The annual Human Rights and Nursing Awards are presented to exemplary nurses to celebrate their outstanding commitment and work to promote human rights. The awards exemplify the essence of nursing’s philosophy of humanity. The aim of the awards is to illuminate and to celebrate nurses whose work fosters international recognition of, and respect for, human rights and for the dignity of people everywhere. The 2024 Human Rights and Nursing Awards were presented at the 24th International Nursing Ethics conference in association with the Nursing Ethics journal on 30th August at Brunel University London.

In August of this year our NMIH colleague Dr PJ Boyle CNSp Migrant Health (first on the left), Balseskin Reception Centre HSE, was one of three recipients of this prestigious award in recognition of his outstanding commitment to human rights and exemplifying the essence of nursing’s philosophy of humanity.

Pictured next to PJ are the fellow recipients Mr. Filippo Gatti and Dr. Emmie Malewezi. Further details about PJ’s and the other recipients awards can be found here
